Pro Form Metals
Metal isn't just for the exterior. We fabricate interior metal elements that add warmth, texture, and durability to any space — from hot rolled steel accent panels to custom shelving, brackets, and decorative details.
Overview
Interior metal work brings a level of craftsmanship and character that other materials can't match. Hot rolled steel develops a natural patina that adds warmth and depth. Blackened steel provides a sleek, modern edge. Copper and brass bring richness. We fabricate interior metal elements for residential and commercial spaces — everything from accent wall panels to custom shelving brackets to bar tops. Each piece is made to your dimensions and finished to your specification.
Our Process
Interior metal projects often require the closest attention to finish quality since every surface is visible and touchable. We start with your design intent — samples, photos, or descriptions of the look you want. We discuss material options and finish characteristics, including how different metals feel, patina, and maintain over time. Fabrication for interior work includes extra steps for finish preparation — sanding, grinding, polishing, or patina application depending on the desired look. We apply clear coats or wax finishes to protect the metal while preserving its natural character. Every piece is handled carefully to avoid scratches and marks during delivery.
Materials
Hot rolled steel is our most requested interior material. Its natural mill scale finish creates a blue-gray surface with unique variation in every piece. When sealed with clear coat or wax, it's durable and easy to maintain. Blackened steel offers a darker, more sophisticated look through chemical patina treatment. Copper and brass add warmth and richness — copper develops a green patina over time, while brass maintains a warmer golden tone. Stainless steel provides a clean, contemporary look for modern kitchens and commercial spaces. We can also create two-tone or mixed-material pieces combining different metals.

FAQ
Not when properly sealed. We apply clear coat or wax finishes that protect the steel while preserving its natural look. Indoor environments don't expose the metal to moisture or weather, so sealed hot rolled steel will maintain its appearance for years with minimal maintenance.
Kitchen range hoods, fireplace surrounds, accent wall panels, shelving brackets, bar tops, counter edges, cabinet inserts, stair treads and stringers, room dividers, and decorative trim. Metal adds texture and visual weight that complements wood, stone, and other natural materials.
Depending on the material and look, we use clear coat sealers, natural wax finishes, chemical patina treatments, brushed finishes, or polished surfaces. We'll prepare samples if you want to see and feel the finish before committing to a full piece.
We focus on architectural and decorative metalwork rather than furniture. However, we do fabricate components like table bases, shelf brackets, and bar supports that are often incorporated into furniture builds. If you have a furniture maker doing the wood, we can supply the metal components.
Sealed hot rolled steel requires very little maintenance. Wipe with a dry or lightly oiled cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Wax-finished pieces may need a fresh coat of wax every year or two depending on use. Copper and brass will patina naturally unless regularly polished.
