Custom Metal Gutters

Gutters are one of the most overlooked parts of a home's exterior — and one of the most critical for water management. We fabricate custom seamless gutters from copper, aluminum, and galvanized steel to handle Sierra Nevada rain and snowmelt.

What We Build

Standard gutters fail in Sierra weather. Heavy snow loads, ice dams, and rapid snowmelt require gutters that are properly sized, securely mounted, and built from materials that last. We fabricate seamless gutters on-site or in-shop to your exact roofline measurements. Custom profiles, oversized downspouts, and material options let you match function to finish. Every gutter system we build is designed to manage real water volume — not just look good on install day.

How We Build It

Gutter projects start with your roofline measurements, pitch, and drainage requirements. For existing homes, we measure on-site. For new construction, we work from roof plans and elevations. We calculate water volume based on roof area and pitch, then specify gutter size, downspout count, and downspout diameter to handle the load. Fabrication includes forming seamless runs to length, fabricating end caps, miters, outlets, and transitions. We deliver complete gutter systems ready for installation, including all hangers, outlets, elbows, and downspout components.

Material Options & Selection

Copper gutters are the premium option — they're naturally resistant to corrosion, develop a distinctive patina, and can last 80+ years. They pair especially well with copper roofing and copper chimney caps for a cohesive look. Aluminum is the most common gutter material — lightweight, rust-resistant, and available in dozens of colors. Galvanized steel provides superior strength for heavy snow load areas and is often used where gutter mounting must support snow guard systems. We also fabricate in zinc-coated steel for a balance of durability and appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What gutter size do I need for my roof?

Standard 5-inch K-style gutters handle most residential roofs. Larger roofs, steeper pitches, and areas with heavy rainfall or snowmelt may require 6-inch gutters with oversized 3x4 downspouts. We calculate sizing based on your specific roof area and conditions.

How long do seamless gutters last?

Aluminum gutters typically last 20-30 years. Copper gutters can last 80+ years. Galvanized steel falls in between at 25-40 years depending on climate exposure. Proper installation and maintenance extend the life of any gutter system.

Can you build gutters that work with snow guards?

Yes. We frequently coordinate gutter systems with snow guard installations, especially for Truckee and Lake Tahoe homes. Gutter sizing, mounting strength, and positioning are all adjusted to handle the additional load from snow retention systems.

Do you install gutters?

We fabricate and supply gutter systems — we don't install them. We coordinate with your installer to ensure all components, hangers, and mounting hardware are correct and complete before delivery.

What's the difference between K-style and half-round gutters?

K-style gutters have a flat back and decorative front profile — they hold more water per linear foot and mount flush against fascia. Half-round gutters have a semicircular profile that's easier to clean and suits traditional and craftsman architecture. We fabricate both styles.
