Custom Flashing Quote Checklist for Sparks Contractors
A useful custom flashing quote starts with a dimensioned profile, piece lengths, quantities, material, finish, and a clear description of where each piece goes. For a Sparks project, send that package to the Reno shop and identify the contractor who will verify the field dimensions and installation detail.
What should the profile drawing show?
Draw an end view of each flashing as though it were cut across its short direction. Dimension every leg from edge to bend and bend to bend. Mark angles, hems, hooks, returns, kick-outs, open edges, and the visible face. State whether controlling measurements are inside or outside dimensions.
Give every profile a mark such as E1, R2, or W3, then use the same mark on the plan and quantity schedule. Add the finished piece length separately. A five-inch leg written beside a photo does not establish the rest of the shape.
What product information belongs in the request?
Specify the metal, gauge or thickness, coating, exact color code, and quantity. When flashing meets a roof or wall panel, include the panel manufacturer and profile. When it replaces existing material, include an intact sample if one can be removed safely and label its orientation.
New material may not look identical to a weathered finish. Say whether the request is for the original product, the closest currently available option, or a contrasting finish. Review made-to-spec options on the Precision Trim and Flashings page.
Which site details affect the quote?
Show roof pitch, wall cladding, panel depth, corners, ends, changes in slope, and penetrations. The roofer should define laps, underlayment integration, fastening, sealants, closures, and installation sequence. The fabrication quote can then price the specified metal instead of carrying assumptions about an incomplete roof detail.

Frequently asked questions
Can the shop quote from plans?
Plans help locate the pieces, but dimensioned profile sections and a length schedule are normally needed to define the fabrication work.
Can I request one piece?
One-off work can be reviewed. Include the same profile, material, length, finish, and fit information required for a larger package.
Who confirms field dimensions?
The contractor or installer responsible for the work should verify dimensions and approve the profiles before fabrication is released.
