Metal Roofing Panels

We supply standing seam and exposed-fastener metal roofing panels designed for the demands of Northern Nevada and Sierra weather. From new construction to reroofs, our panels are selected for performance, longevity, and clean aesthetics.

What We Build

Metal roofing isn't one-size-fits-all. Pitch, snow load, wind exposure, and aesthetics all factor into the right panel choice. We help you select the profile and gauge that fits your project, then supply panels cut to length for clean installation. Our standing seam systems offer concealed fasteners for a sleek look and superior weather performance. Exposed-fastener panels deliver durability and value for shops, barns, and outbuildings. Every panel we supply is backed by proper trim and flashing fabrication to complete the system — because panels without precision trim are only half a roof.

How We Build It

We start with your roof plans or field measurements — pitch, dimensions, penetrations, and valleys all affect panel layout and trim requirements. We help you select the right panel profile based on your roof pitch (standing seam for low-slope, either system for steeper pitches), building use, and design goals. Panels are ordered cut to length to minimize waste and field cuts. We then fabricate all matching trim and flashings — ridge cap, drip edge, valleys, wall flashings, pipe boots, and custom transitions. Everything ships together as a complete package so your crew can install without waiting on pieces.

Material Options & Selection

We supply panels in steel and aluminum. Steel panels are available in 24-gauge (heavier, more rigid) and 26-gauge (lighter, more economical). Coating systems include Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 PVDF (premium, 40-year color warranty) and SMP (standard, 25-year warranty). Color options number in the hundreds. Aluminum panels are lighter and naturally corrosion-resistant — a good choice for coastal or high-moisture environments. Standing seam panels interlock without exposed fasteners, providing superior weather resistance. Exposed-fastener panels use neoprene-washer screws and are faster to install at lower cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's better — standing seam or exposed-fastener?

Standing seam panels are the premium choice. Concealed fasteners eliminate potential leak points and allow thermal expansion. They're the standard for residential homes and any project where appearance and longevity matter. Exposed-fastener panels are more economical and work well for agricultural buildings, shops, and garages.

What gauge metal roofing should I use?

24-gauge steel is the industry standard for quality residential roofing — it's more rigid, handles foot traffic better during maintenance, and resists denting. 26-gauge is acceptable for budget projects, shops, and outbuildings. We don't recommend going lighter than 26-gauge for any roofing application.

How long does a metal roof last?

A properly installed metal roof with quality panels and trim lasts 40 to 70+ years. Kynar-coated steel panels carry 40-year color warranties. The panels themselves often outlast the warranty. Metal roofing outlasts asphalt shingles by 2 to 3 times.

Can you supply panels for a re-roof over existing shingles?

In many cases, yes. Metal panels can be installed over existing asphalt shingles with proper underlayment and battens. We supply the panels and trim — your roofer handles the structural assessment and installation. Local code may limit the number of roof layers, so verify with your building department.

Do metal roofs work in heavy snow?

Metal roofs are excellent in snow country. The smooth surface sheds snow effectively, reducing accumulation. Standing seam panels handle snow load well due to their structural rigidity. We frequently supply panels for Truckee and Lake Tahoe homes that see 300+ inches of snow per year. Snow guards are recommended to control snow release.

What colors are available?

Hundreds of colors across multiple coating systems. The most popular choices for Northern Nevada and Tahoe include Charcoal Gray, Matte Black, Dark Bronze, Burnished Slate, and Galvalume (unpainted zinc-aluminum). We keep the most common colors in stock for faster turnaround.
